One of the Philippine Cultural and Civic Center Foundation's activities is the Children's Workshop. The Children's Workshop/Literacy Program aims to find a commonality, break barriers to eventually make connections and friendships amongst themselves. Exposure through fun and learning experience will hopefully widen their perspectives and acceptance for others. Last year, Dr. Singson's Munting Tinig Choir was the main participant of the program.
An afternoon of fun through age - categorized indoor/outdoor activities (weather-permitting), games, dances, songs and snacks. As part of the literacy program, there was a book distribution, story-telling and book reading for younger children. Every child or young adult who comes will be rewarded with a Disney book solicited by PCCCF Activities Director, Jojo Agoncillo Ramos, from the Threads of Hope.
Some of the books given out were: The Avengers; John Carter; Baby Einstein First Colors, Phineas and Ferb; Read - along storybooks with CDs on Fairies and Princesses, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Adventure books, and many, many more!
On hand to make this a successful event were: Dr. Violeta Singson, Mareta Prill, Cream Pepito- Sommer, Manika Clemente and Jojo Ramos.
